KIDS CHRISTMAS PARTY AND GIFTS PROGRAM
The Christmas season is fast approaching and we always love to allow you to give a gift to less privileged children.
While Christmas is the season of the year when families and friends come together and share love, rejoice, eat together, give each other gifts, have fun and feel at home. But for so many children, families, and individuals in the communities where we operate, and those who rely on the help of Youth With A Vision, Christmas is a time of struggle and hardship, and it is always the same as on the other days of the year. No rice, no meat, no soda, no gift to open. Instead, they just smell meat and chicken from their financially stable neighbours. And on Boxing Day they will flood garbage bins to pick up meat that was thrown from the remainder of Christmas. They will also fight for empty boxes that contain gifts that were donated by families and friends.
Thanks to the generosity of friends like you, every year we organize a Christmas party for the less privileged children including those sponsored and not sponsored, and we provide them with a special Christmas meal and small gifts to open on Boxing Day. During the party, children act out a play about the birth of Jesus, have fun, feast and experience the love of those who have sponsored their meal and gifts.

A word from a beneficiary
I am a single mother of seven children. When I saw other people shopping for food for Christmas I got sad and worried about what to feed my children on, on Christmas day. I have had no single idea of where to get something for us all to eat at Christmas. But now look at what God has done for us. You have given me enough food and my children will eat food this Christmas, and another next day!
I am so happy that for the first time in five years, our Christmas is going to be a more joyful one than before and that my children have a chance to eat the Rice meal they have been wishing for all the time. Donate a Life changing gift.
The idea of this component is based on sharing the love of Christmas with children in poverty while empowering them to get out of poverty. So, we ask and encourage child sponsors to consider his or her sponsored child in their Christmas giving plans, by giving a child, a Christmas present or gift which can spur the child's family out of poverty. Examples of Christmas life-changing gifts include Livestock and Groceries Stalls, just to mention but a few.
When a sponsor donates a life-changing Christmas gift for his or her sponsored child, the staff at Youth With A Vision, engages the child's family to identify a suitable income-generating project for them. This gift helps the child's family to start up an income-generating activity which expands gradually and helps the family to have a source of income for their other basic needs. As a child sponsor, you receive updates about the impact of your Life changing Christmas gift. Through ongoing assessments by our staff and updates from your sponsored child, you may choose to expand the existing child's family income-generating project by giving more life-changing gifts next Christmas.
However, this doesn't stop you as a child sponsor from choosing to give your sponsored child other presents such as shoes, clothes, and bedding.
